Event type:
Local Meeting
Start date:
Thursday, 28 January, 2016 - 19:00 to 21:00

Ok

The last of the lectures at Glynde Social. The talk will be from 8 pm to 9.30pm

7.30 to 8 is induction for new members.

I will be finishing at 9.30 as I have to be up extremely early the next day. ( about 4 am) So if anyone feels up to taking this talk the please let me know as it would be a great help.

The plan is to get the exams done in February, so for anyone wanting to do that check your task book and make sure you have all the tasks done.
Not done = No EXAM

( you can always take it later in the year once your tasks are done)

Also make sure you have emailed me your name and BHPA membership number by 17th Feb latest. That will give me a week to get the exam papers.

So when will i bring good news, and if anyone thinks whats to do,well ,at least vincent ,simon and those other southern club members are having a blast in Colombia, plenty of vids to keep us amused and wishing, dont forget there are other places to fly this time of year ,just a night flight away from flying in the warm lofty air,go investigate internet for trips with our own club members or go it alone, its easy.
phil.
and wishing good flights for those above mentioned,i know they will be watching the uk weather and laughing smuggly.

RRC weekend 9th -10th jan 2016

Event type:
Local Meeting
Start date:
Saturday, 9 January, 2016 - 00:00 to Sunday, 10 January, 2016 - 00:00

Happy New Year all....So now the 2015 flying has finished and all wanting to know when 2016 will be nice to us..not for a while looking ahead as far as forecasts go.this weekend seems to be a continuation of low pressure systems crossing the uk,and does not look like it will be flyable, but i will update fri night about plans,if things change.
If you have not yet gone into meltdown mode from frustration, and still reading my post, some of you ribs and a lot of other flying folk sniff a window of opportunity tomorrow at devils dyke,be aware that the fog will hinder the flying till probably late as mid day,so parawaiting will take place,if you feel the need to get some ground handling in the damp cold conditions and wait it out for some ridge flying before the wind goes too west at around dusk ,its your call....and as i will obviously be joining the ground dwellers giving and taking banter too welcome our fellow flyers into this new year,i can help you out on the hill. This is not a rrc day ,but will give a site brief before flying takes place, and will be there to make you feel welcomed into the possie of free flyers
I will be putting out my wind socks at 9am ,so find me close by or if some of you have never met me yet ,just ask anyone who looks mad enough to sit on a hill getting cold with a big expectational flying grin.
phil

RRC weekend 26th - 27th dec

Start date:
Saturday, 26 December, 2015 - 00:00 to Sunday, 27 December, 2015 - 00:00

RRC weekend 19th - 20th dec

Event type:
Local Meeting
Start date:
Saturday, 19 December, 2015 - 00:00 to Sunday, 20 December, 2015 - 00:00

Red ribs,i wish that deity Zeus would go home for christmas, and give us a break for some nice flying.Even the special mid week rrc day on monday at beachy was not playing ball, and gave a strong southerly ,good for the hangies, i did give it a go ,but even the sea mist, sent me packing.
I thinks you can see ,by checking any weather forecast, that low pressure systems are coming one after another, bringing their frontal rain in the mild air.So the weekend looks as before strong winds.
I will post again on friday to update ,but better plan your last minute Christmas pressie mission. And if you spots Santa ,he better bring that new wing i needs. :)
Phil.
Ps ,and well done to Matt Canning (Ex red rib) ,for winning ,best clubs pg newcomer, only after a year, shows what you can all achieve.

RRC weekend 12th - 13th dec

Event type:
Local Meeting
Start date:
Saturday, 12 December, 2015 - 00:00 to Sunday, 13 December, 2015 - 00:00

Don't despair red ribs, yes 2015 is nearly over but the flying will continue, when this will happen with a sensible few days of flying weather is still a mystery, there was the cheeky flying window at beachy head on monday ,but like most of us ,even i could not make that last minute trip out.
So,all those thinking what will this weekend brings, not looking good, keep an eye on the weather ,just in case things change.
If you think you have had enough of waiting to fly why not book a winters flying trip abroad ,there are many established folk in the club that run various trips all over the world, just do some research,or post a post on the clubs page and you will get plenty of help.
Hope to see some of you this weekend at the clubs Xmas dinner and awards night, see simons post about that event.
Till Fridays regular update, bye for now.
