Flight details: | Gosh!!! It was so exciting. Early in the school hols and a super sunny day. All our chores were done so we could go out to play. Off we went, Julian (Crispin), Dick (Ed), George (er...Pete), Anne (Grita) and of course Timmy the dog (Andrew, by virtue of being a Nova species instead of a Gin Sprint Evo) - all of us rushing around the busy playground with all the other boys and girls. Then we thought it would be just wizard if we all went off on an adventure! So, we decided to leave all the other children and very carefully and slowly and quietly climbed away from the playground, leaving them all behind. It was jolly hard work, but soon we were all high in the sky with all the lovely countryside to explore. Julian and Dick led the way to the West where they thought they could see lashings and lashings of scrumptious thermals. George wasn't going to be told what to do by the boys, so she went SW as she had spotted features that her teacher Carlo had taught her about last term and was rewarded with a super climb. Anne, who although she is quiet and will normally follow the boys, is a very sensible girl and so she waited to see what would happen. Meanwhile, Timmy the dog was rushing around all over the place in great excitement until, exhausted, he disappeared down a rabbit hole near South Heighton. Julian and Dick found that, when they got to their picnic spot, someone had drunk all the ginger thermals already, so landed by the A26. George led the way over Newhaven but couldn't find any more thermals so, rather sulkily, landed across the river outside Newhaven. Anne, who as we all know is a sensible girl, flew carefully along and found more climbs but, because she is also obedient, knew that she shouldn't go off by herself and so flew back to join George.
George was a bit grumpy at first as she hated to be outflown by a proper girl, but she soon cheered up when she realised that the clever box made by the father the Professor which she had been given for her birthday |
