| Flight details: | Arrived at High and Over. Dispensed remains of the day's first coffee over a slug near the entrance to the take off. It seemed a little pissed off at this, quite literally. Took off into crowds of people, a few of whom were turning around in the punchy thermals. Took a nice one to 2200 ATO, and decided to squeeze the dregs out of the XC season. It is October, after all; not much chance of any more XC this year. Damned GPS is in pocket. Two gliders doing really well near me went back to the the hill; obviously preferring dodging other gliders to having an adventure. A decent thermal over Newhaven petered out, and went on a glide to Telscombe Tye. Down below some geezer was ground handling a paraglider. Got lift back from Mike Bennett, diamond geezer. Must buy him a drink some day. |
