It was 5th day of my second visit in Algodonales. After having my intro into real thermalling with FlySpain (was very well done by the way) I decided to come back and fly with Ganterfly. They have a bit different approach to process, but it gave me ~x4 time more airtime than first week did. It was partially down to better weather in my second visit, but not only to it.
Despite having more airtime with Ganterfly (and it was cheaper and accommodation was better) I still would recommend for your first thermalling flying trip go to school which will teach you how to use thermals. Actually it is down to your instructor - I was lucky to learn from Jimmy Piper at FlySpain during my week in March.
To the flight.
Start from westerly take off. After ~hour of playing with thermals along starting mountain being high and low I had my first reasonable asymmetric collapse on right side of the wing. Reasonable big to feel how right side lost support and obvious weight shift to the left cured it easily. For some reason it wasn't scary - it was sort of feeling it is going to happen "now!" when I fell out of nice supportive thermal.. and it did happen. So experience point gained here - don't fall out of thermal! :)
I come back to take off, climb to 1860m and join our team (Germans) heading to Twin Peaks. They were 50 meters above me when we set off and all of them had used accelerators and I didn't so I was a bit behind on arrival. All arrived low - usual places on the route didn't work. Some of pilots were just running on the roofs :). I start to look for landing options, but decide to see what other will do first as they were lower than me.
We scrambling around for a while and finally all manage to climb just over Twin Peaks. All was good and then it happens. Two mistake in a row were too much:
