Flight details: | I couldn't participate properly in the BCC today but I was able to persuade my wife and daughter that Hundred House was en route back from Aberystwyth so worth a visit. I arrived after the briefing but before the flying started (it was going to be a slow start).
I didn't have long before we had to drive on back to Brighton but fortunately I got into a good climb straight after taking off. The wind was decidedly NE but my mission was to stay close to the road so that there would be no complicated retrieve required. It was a stunning day with lovely cu's and paragliders dotting the sky (and ground) wherever I looked, North, South, East, West, above and below me. My mission worked well for a while and I found a good climb over Erwood but each climb was taking me West so with every glide I had to push cross wind so as to remain within gliding distance of the road. Soon it was blue in the direction I wanted to go and the inevitable happened.
A lovely flight and I was able to land a short walk from the main road so Sue didn't have to go out of her way to collect me. What a fantastic start to the BCC year.
