Flight

Flight details
Title: H&O to Dunsfold. Was meant to be H&O to Wales...
Site:High and Over
Pilot:Stephen Purdie
Date of flight:26th February 2016
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
Nice start with a nascent sea breeze convergence until north of Newhaven, then slowed down rather due to top cover. Was running only a few km ahead of the rain for most of the flight.

Had airliners flying really close. The first one was within 1000' of me and he made an orbit to come for another look. I made a very close inspection of my Live after that!

Got low towards the end, then when I got a climb I saw the proximity of Dunsfold, got spooked and lost the plot.

Huge thanks to Ross who saw my flight on livetrack24 while he was driving past Lewes (?) and decided to start following. My mobile rang to congratulate me and let me know he was on the way before I had even taken my helmet off. Now that's service!

Luke Nichol26th Feb 01:20: Well I decided I'd flown 3 days in a row and needed to work. Instead I see a telegram message you're on an XC from high and over and now I'm sitting watching your xc instead of work or flying myself. Thanks a bunch ;) But seriously, well done, mainly on the second half of the flight where you covered 30km at the height most of us are setting up our approach!!!
