| Flight details: | Very light breeze - or none. Sunny parawaiting and waiting. Then a surge of activity, a DD scrum - from which emerged a small gaggle: Carlo, Nancy, Tefal and me! Then it all started to work: some good climbs to cloudbase; easy glides to the next climb; all a bit slow however, but we all chuntered on happily for a while. I then started to drop behind a bit and, it has to be said, my brain was gradually turning to mush. Concentration gone, judgement poor, feeling for lift disappearing. Net result - the gaggle reduced to 3 and I flew to the ground. 90 mins of parawaiting then 2:30 hours of flying did me in.
A very gentlemanly Mark Watts was almost immediately on hand to retrieve. Thank you Sir. And also dispensed sound advice about keeping hydrated and nourished as a way of keeping the brain matter functioning...... |
