Title: Caburn to a cup o' tea
Site:Mount Caburn
Pilot:Dave Massie
Date of flight:3rd August 2009
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
Howling at home, so expected a trip to Newhaven was on the cards, but no, peeps are still flying at Caburn, so up I go, take off, and 10 minutes later, I'm 2,000 above with Finn K, yet again. The usual stuff happened - the 4-up disappearing to nothing, the bonfire at Glyndebourne (is there anything left of it now?). Glided across to the glider club - there was the same old thermal, and again at the factory unit, and again at the lake. Problem was the damned Jumbos, occupying the airspace above me at 2,500 feet. Hopping from rough low save to another, while Finn glided overhead. Ended up close to last ime, this time the rough low save was taking me over a wood, too big, and too high to get across with 100% certainty. Landed in a large garden, and had a cup of tea. Thanks to Pete Campbell for the retrieve. Then had a session on the cliffs. Nice day in the end.
