Flight details: | Arrived on the hill to see loads of bods leaving it high... Had several attempts to get up without luck, when the wind turned WSW. After a couple of goes, ended up at the bottom with severl others. Gto back to the top (Thanks Nigel!), and set off again - the wind having come around a bit. Took a thermal up with Owen, to around 1000 feet ATO, where we both lost it. I glided off to the A23, in a last ditch attempt to find lift downwind. It worked, as the A23 itself gave me a rough climb, which eventually smoothed out to lift all around the circle, up to 3,000 feet, where I left it to glide to some likely looking clouds. But the convergence was heading inland as fast as I was, and while it gave me some hope, it was down all the way to Lewes, where I got roughed up for nothing low down. Last ditch attempts to stay up failed, and I selected the only green field around to land in. Must try harder, and wake up earlier... Richard Chester-Nash offered me a lift, but before he could, Kenny picked me up, having collected Tefal and Richard Westgate. Thanks to Richard and Kenny. |
