Flight details: | Windy day in the hill with lots of pilots, broken thermals and a great looking sky which led to my first UK XC
I had arrived at the hill at about 10 to find plenty flying in strong and thermic conditions. Took of and flew spending most of my time well out the front. After a flight of 30 mins or so decided to land as the air was very busy with the usual Dyke fun with both Hangies and Paragliders trying to thermal, ridge soar, land and launch all in the same small area of sky! The air was reasonable bumpy but not too bad!
Took off again after a short break and was instantly shot about 60 ft vertically above take off. Pushed forward and found a lovely smooth climb which started to drift away over the golf course with just me in it! Was almost at base as I reached the main road and decided to leave the climb rather the continue to drift over brighton and a lack of landing options.
Pushed cross wind towards the stadium and some nice clouds but ended up at Asda with out the height to cross the trees and still have height for a climb! Therefore landed with a massive smile and the duck broken! Roll on the rest of the summer!! |
