| Flight details: | Was hoping to go over the back of caburn for the first time today and i did. It was apparent that the sea breeze was well on its way by the time we got to the top and so we launched before 10am, not really soarable but a couple of thermals came through and i followed them back a few times. Caburns thermals always seem to die down to almost nothing behind the hill but i kept drifting with one and it eventually turned good again by the big building about 1km back (a golf club?). Got another good thermal but again it fizzled out at around 1800ft so headed to a circling carlo above the ringmer gliding club and found nothing- great to see a sailplane being towed up right beneath me... as i landed somebody else on a green wing (NANCY?) landed a couple of fields across and i packed away whilst carlo skied out with the sailplane... Much needed flight after all this rubbish weather...... |
