Flight details:
Another fantastic day in laragne, this time the wind was west so we headed an hours drive away to Aspre, the sky had a lot more cirrus in so thermals were half the strength of the day before and the whole flight back to the campsite was into a 10mph headwind which made progress slow, i decided to get away early as the cirrus was meant to be getting worse as the day continued, so i was the second out of 50+ gliders to launch and went straight into a thermal and up to over 9000ft, i managed to slowly work my way back to the campsite using all the westerly faces facing into sun and getting quite low a couple of times, i eventually arrived back to the campsite with a little over 500ft to spare and then bumped into the strongest thermal of the day that took me to over 10,000ft, so i headed off to chabre where we flew the day before and found nothing but sink, i waited until i was level with the take-off and headed back to the campsite but hit very bad sink all the way back and landed in a tiny field 50 metres away from the campsite, bad judgement call but a safe landing and another 49km to add to my logbook- today looks like another great day....
