Title: Dyke Truleigh Newtimber
Site:Devils Dyke
Pilot:John Porter
Date of flight:28th July 2012
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
Launched from the Dyke at around 10 a.m. There were lifty bits everywhere and I soon got to the end of Truleigh where it was a lot less crowded and allowed a lot of
unimpaired thermalling practice.

Eventually the sun came out properly and conditions were improving all the time so made my way back to the Dyke. Found a few thermals and eventually got to around 2500 feet when I decided it was time to attempt an XC. (I don't remember reaching 7000 feet as shown on the tracklog). What a mistake. I should have waited for a bit more height and gone with the gaggle a bit later.

Managed to find little scrappy bits of lift low down on Newtimber then lost it and slope landed.

As I trudged back towards the Dyke everyone else (or so it seemed to me) were in gaggles and left the hill. By the time I relaunched a managed a mgnificent top to bottom. Thanks Nancy for the lift back to the top.
