Flight details: | Strong and gusty on take off and too late really to make much of it. But there were thermals to be had, generated by the harvester near the road. Hugh M seemed to be doing quite well flying his father on tandem and so it seemed like it might be worth giving it a go. A reasonable thermal took me up to about 1600' ATO and with the usual wonderful views all round I thought why not and let's just see where this flight goes. Not that far of course but very pleasant to be up there for however long it lasted. Landed east of Laughton near Marchant's Hardy Plants (the best nursery in South East England and well worth a visit) where I put in a generous order for some autumnal planting. Many thanks Alison for the speedy retrieve! |
