Having spent the morning at Firle the wind went more to the East so I headed over to Bo Peep.
Got there about 12.30 and the wind was strong and gusty with only 1 or 2 pilots in the air.
By about 1.30 the promise of widening isobars and a slight drop off of the wind seemed to be occuring.
Spurred on by the successful launch of a red ribbon wind dummy I decide it was time to take off.
The wind had dropped slightly so penetration was not an issue and then it started to get more thermic and I got up to 2500 ASL.
So I decided to try and see how far I could go on out and returns and FAI triangles.
I was trying for the reservoir but did not make it. Next time
I managed just over 4 K on the out and return and just over 5 on the triangle.
In the end a good hour of flying. |
