Flight details: | Test flying the Epsilon 7, which is the Sigma 8's pretty lil' sister: definitely from the same company, a very refined balanced and surprisingly nimble wing. Air was getting stable on eastern ridge, so scooted west to trig beacon and got rewarded with climb with rigid HG. I had to laugh when we left on glide. He got to Caburn and I hadn't yet passed the carpark at Firle. There's a slight difference in speed.
Great clear air and little cu's, which guided me on my crosswind glides, I tried to wait until there was something to glide towards, and pushed upwind on lift lines. No hurry, lovely day out.
The seabreeze (SE) along the coast didn't push past the south downs ridge line most of the way. Lots of sailplanes out today. |
