An interesting day at caburn. Oddly not that busy. The air close to launch was not that lifty with broken thermal activity. You had to work ridge to find a thermal that would take you through that bottom 200 feet and then there was lift upto about 1200-1400 above take off. Quite a few people were flying triangles and several pilots opted for a southerly run over the back. By about 1 pm the air was becoming quite rough. i could be wrong but it looked from the clouds like Caburn was in the middle of air coming from the East and from Newhaven direction and it was not mixing that well. Prior to that it was good thermal practice flying and as you can see from the various flight diaries good for triangles. Any one else that had flights please log them. This is my second attempt at logging the flight to see if it gets the correct distance. |
