Flight details: | Got to firle for 8.30am as it was NNE at the dyke. Took off first whilst it was easily soarbable and climbed out fairly quickly. Struggled to make any progress into wind as it was quite strong all day and kept retreating back to the reliable hill source. Didn't come down and soar the hill for over 3 hours but the thermals were always kicking off either on the hill or just out front. A nice flight but quite rough air at times and a tricky inversion or wind shear layer to break through at around 2500ft, where you had to search around for the thermal again, but once through it was easy to get to cloud base.
Well done to Steve cook for breaking another site record and flying from Firle to Butser, back to beachy head and landing back at firle at the end of the day acting like hes just boated to the trig point and back! He's UNSTOPPABLE!!!
