| Flight details: | A nice (?) walk up Tal y Bont for the dubious privilege of looking out at magnificent views rather spoiled by the inversion. On my first attempt, I just failed to connect with what was probably the one really good thermal (marked by a couple of wings) and had to land on the shoulder and wait for another chance. When it finally came an hour or so later, it was still a struggle to find lift, so I bottled out and pointed my feet downwind to try to get maximum distance on the glide without risking the almost inevitable early landing which would have been the result of going looking for thermals. Not much of a flight, but at least it was something, and actually quite satisfying in the circumstances. |
