Greatest day of my life! Finally managed to get away from the hill!
First time I follow Mark Watts and manage to climb with all the big boys, unfortunately I'm just grabbing the tail of the lift and let go when low above the dyke.
Back to take off!
Tried few more times and slope landed.
Long wait with master Ghandi promising me some lift in 2 minutes every 3 minutes.
When Ghandi finally decided to go away, many people went for a climb so I followed and started turning.
Then someone comes towards me, turning left, I scream and shout and keep going, then I realize everybody's turning LEFT!!!
Ahah what a plonker I'm so used to the turning right thing I didn't realize this was a french gaggle and missed the hole plot!
BAck to take off, but more lift seems to be coming.
Next time up I manage to stay and keep turning getting lower and lower close to the trees at the bottom of the hill.
I decide to go to landing field and halfway there, PAM! I go up again.
This time I turn nicely, up up up I go, I see all the other lemmings trying to catch the climb I just caught, but I'm at the top of the pack!
Ahahah very funny, Simon, Owen and many more all flying below me!!! King of the sky!
After a while I realize that if I stop shouting and screaming I can actually hear my vario! Very handy ;)
Almost caught up with Carlo and some others, then they start gliding East.
I'm like: No way, I'm going in this cloud, BIG TIME.
Anyways I never made it to the cloud, and everybody left me behind :'(
Nevermind I start gliding east too as I'm feeling lonely, then I see them turning again, I catch the same lift and go up as well.
Never manage to catch them, so keep following them 500feet bellow, but sea breeze is very close and I'm loosing lift as I'm too low and seem to go through the convergence.
I finally realize I'm very close to Ditchling car park, fly above it, spiral dive to the ground and land like a hero!
