Flight details: | For what ever reason I have never flown Ditchling before, so with the N forecast for today and Phil Et heading there with the Red Ribbon seemed like a good day to give it a go. The wind dropped enough by 2.30 for the first pilot to Launch. We took off on the East side of the road. Nick Jones was first off and headed off towards Lewes. Phil then took off and I followed shorlty. Phil went to the West side of the road and got what looked like some great lift there and pushed out way in front.
I followed suit and scraped around the corner and then found the lift. the thermals were coming through with lift to about 1400 ASL. Generally a fun flight.
I mis-judged the amount of sink at the end as it started to switch off and had a fairly fast slope landing and just missed a prickly bush - my feet went through it but the wing dropped on the other side.
All in a good flight for February. |
