Title: Early bird catches the convergence
Site:Mount Caburn
Pilot:Greg Hamerton
Date of flight:13th May 2015
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
Looked good on RASP for a triangle. Steve Purdie timed the oncoming convergence to a T, Simon spotted the birds circling and bravely was first to go, went up like a cork, so Vincent and Trevor? followed ... one climb to about 3500ft with no drift! Set off for our first turnpoint at Keymer, following the convergence cloud line. Simon gave me the slip on the turnpoint, I topped up for more safety, then glided on towards Uckfield, where we both landed in a horrible 4m/s sinkhole at 1.30pm, with baking sun on the ground and no wind. bah! there was surely a big thermal somewhere nearby...
