Flight details:
Let me start off by saying; this was no Devil's Dyke to Margate, but for me it was pretty special!

The day started with a few pilots at the Dyke waiting for the wind. The day was overcast with very low cloud, so low in fact that it was being pushed right over the top of the hill and visibility was very low. A few people had a go but they were sucked up within seconds and it all looked too dodgy for us Red Ribs!

Tick followed tock and eventually it became flyable, after dodging a small bit of rain, and we were off!

After a few more experienced pilots took off, it was the run for us Red Ribs!

I took off and soared around for 20 mins in some decent wind and lift. I stuck to the bowl and caught as much height as I could. At that time there were about 15 pilots in the air and i saw that they were all heading down the ridge for Truleigh.

In the car in the morning I told Ed that I'd like to go to Truleigh from the Dyke before the Summer and as I saw everyone heading that way I knew I had to have a go also.

I headed down the ridge got enough height over the pylons (that was cool) and then began heading down ridge with all the other pilots. A few times I looked around and saw Vincent next to me and someone on a Z4 and wanted to shout out 'Holy shit I am flying!' but I thought that would be incredibly unprofessional! Anyway I made it to Truleigh and tried to head back, a couple of pilots stayed there and caught some height, but I turned back and lost it very quickly. Before I knew it, I was at the pylons again and way to low so had to bottom land in a field and walk back to the bottom landing for the Dyke to meet Ed.

Later than day, I soared for another hour or so and then again for 30 mins! Adding some serious time to my logbook!

Again, like I said, not a record beating flight or a epic XC but, for me, it was a great day where I escaped the Dyke, got some height, flew with others, made it over the pylons, caught a thermal, didn't crash, didn't caus
