An unexpected Xc from the Dyke. I got to the Dyke around 8 am not expecting to have much more than a bit of windy ridge soaring before it blew out. But then the inversion lifted and some thermals started coming through. Finally connected into the bottom of one that Carlo and two other pilots were in. After several attempts finally got into a slow climb and drifted over the back. Another thermal over the A 23 gave enough lift to get to the stadium and that then produced the next climb.
I then completely misread the sea breeze front and had not realised I was on the edge of it. So instead of moving more N to avoid just flew straight through it.And that pretty much took me on the glide to Middle farm. Still a fun flight and my first XC from the Dyke. |
