Flight details: | It started ENE and windy, backed NE and got a bit windier. Some of those who came out chose not to fly, it was so windy. Once in the air it was OK. It was mostly blue most of the time although a few cumulus came by later in the afternoon. The inversion was at about 2,500ft-ish. Thermals over the back were broken up and hard to core. If you could find lift out front it was nicer. I got 2,500ft which took me to Drusilla's, and in the other direction another climb got me as far as Middle Farm making a small (11k) triangle. I was in the air for 3 hours 34 minutes - my longest ever flight and probably the slowest ever 11k triangle.
After briefing Nestor about the landing approach - do not make your approach from too far down the hill when it's a bit easterly and strong; do not track behind the fence, etc., I executed a landing displaying all the "do nots" and landed behind the fence. Purely for demonstration purposes, of course. |
