Flight details: | Funny old day. Started strong and Northerly, then dropped to light Easterly. In this period some managed to get high and far out the front. It then quickly switched West and I managed to climb out on the Easterly spur by the modelers bowl. Nice and consistent, I tracked over behind Newtimber then pushed back forward to a cloud. Then i stayed between the ridge and A27. Near Lewes I could see a fire in the Ouse valley, the smoke rising nicely. I could see students at Ditchling still in a Northerly and the Glynde turbine was showing West. When over Lewes I saw the smoke was now streaming along the ground, Sea breeze and time to move North and I got a nice climb behind Caburn. The air at first was nice and smooth but as the sea breeze approached it was getting all bitty and churned up.Run north, or Climb above it? I did a bit of both finally I got out run just as the sky was looking better. (It had been blue all day). Packed up, walked to the road just as Catherine and Gary turned up! Perfect since they also had cake and coffee! |
