Flight details: | After a bouncy first flight with climbs petering out at around 2,500 ft, tried again. Things working a bit better and, after an initial melee, found myself in a mini gaggle with Carlo and Nancy. Climbs now working up to cloudbase at around 4,200ft, but slow going. Pushed out over Mt Caburn then on beyond the golf course at which point the a plan to turn round and head back to launch was hatched - sort of. Nancy pushed on to land at home. Carlo and I got drilled flying back across the valley and scraped in just above Firle. Then, just behind take-off, a few swallows/house martins flitting about. A couple of turns, then I followed what felt like a line of lift back towards the front of the hill. Mistake. I landed and watched Carlo pull off a great and very low save and push on back to BP. Still, a very pleasant cruise around the local sites in the sunshine. |
